Friday’s Tidbit: Mellow Bamboo Windchimes from Jewelz Odonnell

The weather is finally, finally turning, and with the nice weather I’m on the lookout for treasures to enjoys outdoors. I am really loving these Rustic Bamboo Windchimes, from the jewelzodonnell etsy site.
A wonderfully mellow sounding handmade bamboo windchimes with a polymer clay clapper.
First I took a long piece of bamboo cane and cut it into sections of various sizes. Then I cut out pieces of each one, making it into a reed-shaped chime. I sanded them and drilled holes in the top to thread the black satin cord through. The cords went through holes drilled in the 4.5 inch hardwood circle, and then tied to a 1.25 inch metal ring.
The center piece has a polymer clay clapper (also handmade by me) and a piece of bamboo at the bottom to catch the breeze.
The longest of the five bamboo chimes is 11 inches long, the shortest one is 7 inches long. In total, the windchimes are 29 inches long from the top of the metal ring to the bottom of the longes windchime.
Ahhhhhh. Just the description sounds relaxing! I’m really looking forward to seeing more of Julie’s windchimes as she adds them to her shop!
