Link Love: Quilting Gallery

quilting-gallery

This week’s edition of link love is a special gift for all you crafty folks out there!  I first fell in love with the Quilting Gallery while they were running their “What was I Thinking”  Ugly Quilt contest…what a laugh!  And how comforting to see that I’m not the only person who has put a ton of work into something only to stare in horror at the finished results.  (Although in fairness, I didn’t think any of the contestents’ quilts were particularly ugly) ;)

The Quilting Gallery is a great international resource for quilters and fabric crafters alike, and is run by Michele Foster (AKA Mishka) from her home in Ottawa.  Says Michele:

I started this site back in December 2007 as a way to combine my passion for quilting and my work life as a freelance web developer. Building client sites for 10 years, I wanted a site of my own to “practice what I preached” to my clients.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would become what it has today, 1.5 years later. And best of all, the ideas keep coming. Look for even more exciting features to be added at the end of Summer 2009.

Go check out The Quilting Gallery…a fantastic resource and a great place to be inspired!

It is kind of comforting and hilarious to share our “ugly children”. Who hasn’t spent a wack of time on something to find it really belongs in the bin rather than in the market place! I will have to check this site out.
