Well, the official summer is winding down to a close…Thing One is heading back to school, which puts a bit of a damper on the ol’ social calender, but on the upside, it leaves a lot more time for IndieNorth fun!
So, as a great big thank you to the Canadian Indie Businesses that make IndieNorth what it is, we’re going to start the contest season with my favourite game:
*In order to enter this particular contest, you must be a Canadian running a business in Canada, and you must have a web presence. Either a shop, or a website for instance.
To enter:
Visit the shop/website of the person who commented above you and comment here about your favourite item or service they offer.
*****You must post your website (or shop) address right inside the comments section of your entry. That way, the next entrant will be able to visit your site and comment on it for their entry*****
Please do not hotlink your website address in your comment…otherwise the spam filter will jump all over it. Post your address like this:
www[dot]yourwebsite[dot]com/blah.html
You can enter by playing “The Person Above Me” Once Per Day!
For Extra Entries, once per day, you can:
“what’s the prize”, you ask?
This week’s draw will be for one month of banner advertising on IndieNorth! The winner will supply a 125×125 pixel banner ad, and it will appear in the far right column of IndieNorth for 30 days from the day it goes up! Hooray!!
“How many winners”, you ask?
Here’s the fun part…since this really is a fun contest, I’m offering the following:
If I get between 1 and 49 entrants, I will award 1 ad spot!
If I get between 50 and 99, I will award 2 ad spots
If over 100 people enter, I will award 3 ad spots
So please, please, please spread the word about this contest…I really think it will be a fun way to get the word around about all the fabulous Canadian talent out there!
The not so fine print…winners will be contacted on September 7th via the e-mail address they provide, and will have 48 hours to provide me with a 125 pixel banner. If I don’t receive the banner ad by the end of 48 hours, I’ll have to choose a new winner.
Good luck, and please, twitter, facepook, plurk and post about this contest! Let’s make it a biggie!
Once again, fishing for compliments, but hey…someone needs to open the contest!
IndieNorth is one of the most awesome web site on the net for entrepreneurs. I LOVE the ressources section (did you check it out lately?), the contests and the daily findings.
Plus Beth is just wonderful:)
Thank you for this contest! Have a wonderful week:)

Verre Design is such a beautiful store to enter. You are just struck by all the beautiful individual pieces. The store has such a romantic feel to it. Gorgeous.
Have you seen her Avatar? CLASSIC!
In reading her profile you rfind out a little of her history and how she came to bring you her goodies.
You can follow her on Twitter or her Blog – so she’s completely accessible.
With all of her beautiful items I must say that it was a lovely key chain charm that caught my breath. The key chain titled is just a stunning piece! Handtorched beads, Swarovski beads and a silver ring. WOW!
check out this store – you will not regret it

check me out, tell me what ya like, and maybe suggest a flavor!
I have seen the name of The Grand Bakery shop a couple of times on Twitter since Karley from She Sews Lovely is in visit in Ontario and now that I have visited the website, I completely understand the enthusiasm for The Grand Bakery!
So many cupcake flavors to choose from, hard to choose a favorite, but here it is : “S’more”, I find it beautiful and a bit intriguing!
Flavor suggestion? I’d suggest anything with raspberries (maybe with lemon and coconut?)
Oops, forgot to include link to my shop!

Yummy…Yummy…Yummy Krista!
The pictures make me very hungry for everything, but if I have to pick one flavour: Chocolate Overload
[It’s all Belgian, baby! Chocolate cake filled with chocolate ganache, topped with more whipped chocolate ganache and crusted with chocolate curls. Seriously Chocolate.]

Victorian Quilt Designs is an all in one online quilting guild. For members she offers all sorts of services: block of the month, classes, and patterns.
My mother is an avid quilter and would love this site. She actually organizes the block of the month club for her guild.
I think the most intriguing part is the lessons. As a ‘newbie’ I know I have a LOT to learn.

Smidgebox is a fun shop that I haven’t visited before. I like her original and eye-catching banner and avatar (and shop name!), and it makes me want to stay awhile in her shop.
She has some very lovely totes–I like the window applique designs on them. I also think the Halloween buckets and the Wee Chef items are terrific.

Laura at PrariePeasant makes fabulous books… I especially love her travel journals! I remember journalling on trips when I was younger, and one of her journals would have made that task so much cooler!

Your ‘Today’s Sale’ section is a neat idea to. Do you do that every day? I like that… might have to keep that in mind and run one of those once in a while. Do you get good results?
