I am so excited to introduce you to today’s feature.   Refrain is an independent movie just coming out on the scene, and I can tell just by watching the trailer that it’s going to be absolutely amazing!  I cannot wait to see the whole thing!  Tyler Gibb runs a home based film production company, and he’s set to release his latest creation to the public tomorrow!

Says Tyler:

“Refrain is a movie about a young songwriter who uses her music to overcome oppression and cyclical violence.

It was done on a non-existent budget and was truly a labour of love. Our first “product” for Refrain – a DVD – is finally set to come out next week. In addition to the DVD we also produced a lot of music for the film and these songs are all available for free on our website.”

As everyone knows, I have a real soft spot for labours of love, and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to picking up this DVD!!!  You can check out the Refrain trailer here.

Now…while I have you here, Make sure you check out a particularly cool aspect of the production of Refrain, known as “The Side Project“.  Again, I’m going to leave it to Tyler to explain:

“the “Side Project” and it’s a companion piece to the movie where we opened up all the original songs we’d written for the soundtrack to the interpretation of other indie musicians. We told them to run wild with the tracks. They could remix them, straight up cover them, or alter their arrangement in any way they wished. The results were really inspiring and we put all these Side Project songs up on the website for free download as well, to help spread the word about these struggling artists.”
