Lovely Spring Purses from Firiona!
It time to break out the spring outfits, which means only one thing…time to find some new spring accessories!
I love these awesome bags from Liz over at Firiona! So many gorgeous colours to choose from! Handbags are her passion, and all her pieces are one of a kind, so you’ll always be unique! She loves custom orders too, so if you have an idea in mind, make sure you drop her a line!
- Spring Butterfly: This adorable handbag exterior is 100% quilter’s cotton in grass green with cherry colored butterflies and tiny gold flowers. The cotton is fully interfaced for structure, and the lining of the bag is a smooth gold satin. The upper band of the Spring Butterfly is made of distressed cranberry crackle-glazed leather. Zoom in on the pictures to see the incredible texture!
- Morning Glory: This big tough tote is made from Amy Butler’s 100% cotton “Morning Glory in Linen”, with heavy interfacing for structure and durability. The interior of the bag as well as the tops and handles are a soft and strong olive denim, with adorable sky blue buttons.
- Spicy Cherry: This is a gorgeous splash of summer sunshine! The fabric is Amy Butler’s Star Paisley cotton, and I’m in love with the tiny cherries and the warm summery colors. The cotton body of the bag is fully interfaced for structure, and the lining is a smooth gold satin. My favorite part is the soft buttery caramel-colored leather top – zoom in!

- Funny Baby Card: For all those crafty mom’s to be who insist on making EVERYTHING! With a little help from a man, of course.
- Pinup Girl Switchplate Cover: One of the many beautiful and sexy Gil Elvgren images! Gotta love a bike ride on a windy day! All of my switch plates are made using a solid, plastic switch plate and each one comes with screws. I use an adhesive backed paper to print the images onto. The image is then applied to the switch plate and then covered with two layers of decopodge and then a layer of varnish. This allows for cleaning with a damp cloth if needed.
- Funny Birthday Card: For those friends who just can’t admit the truth. Let me know if you want 40ish or 50ish or whatever-ish instead of the 30ish.

The Most Fabulous Owl Ever, from McBrideHouse
The ultra-talented Bella McBride of McBrideHouse does it again, this time needlefelting the cutest, most precious little owl soft sculpture I’ve ever seen!

In the warm summer nights, when the window is open and a soft breeze is blowing in, and I’m just drifting off to sleep I can hear an owl in the woods nearby. If I listen carefully I can hear another voice further away. Soft hoos and coos, almost purring to each other. It’s a great way to fall asleep.
Mr Owl (how do I know he’s a Mister? Just look at those bushy eyebrows! No self respecting Lady Owl would have eyebrows like that!) is made from a technique called needle felting, which involves poking and prodding different colours of wool with a extremely sharp barbed needle until you reach the perfect shape. It literally takes thousands of pokes to reach just the right sculpture. He is free standing and his wire wrapped legs are bendable to allow slight adjustments to make him steady.
Even though Mr Owl hardly weighs a thing he is approx. 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) tall from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head. He is beautiful to look at, and he comes from a smoke free home, but he is not a children’s toy.
Mr Owl is made from combining a mixed chocolate brown colour with a creamy white. This makes him to be extremely unique and a one of a kind item. Remember different monitors may show colours slightly different then they actually are, but trust me, I’ve worked very hard in picking out just the right colours to bring these sculptures to life!
