Okay how many pairs of shoes do you own that can be described like this?:

“This pair of flats is versatile in matching, they’re great for matching up wedding gowns, evening dress or a pair of jeans.”

From gowns to jeans?  TheGeneration shoe collection is pure genius!

QUOTE:

“These flats are handmade from hemp and cotton, followed traditional shoe making craftsmanship, they’re truly one of a kind! The soles are hand stitched on 25-30 layers of sustainable cotton fabrics which makes the soles flexible yet durable. They’re totally chemical adhesive free. Special attention to the insole pads provides great arch support, your feet will be feeling comfortable and relaxed.”

Custom Coolness from Persephone’s Awakening

Oooo…what a fabulous dose of spring from Persephone’s Awakening!  I just love the happy go lucky feeling these fantastic crocheted flowers will bring to any outfit!!

Says Jen, from Persephone’s Awakening:

“I am a tree-hugger to the extreme. Any time I can save or salvage ‘things’ to use in creative projects, I do it. That’s why I like the crocheted items that I make; I hardly ever buy new yarn, because most of it is upcycled from other projects. It may be an ugly sweater or placemat that I found at the thrift store, the ends from someone else’s project, or a blanket that I made when I was first learning to crochet and is no longer useful in blanket form. These pieces come together to form new accessories that make your outfits a wee bit more special.”

Love, love, love them!!!

  1. Single Row Scarf:  Welcome in the colder days with a warm, colourful crocheted scarf. This is made with various reclaimed and new yarns from my stash, patiently crocheted using a size 4 hook. Each flower has been blocked.  A total of 24 flowers, this scarf is designed to wrap at the throat for warmth and lay flat beneath your jacket or coat.
  2. Design Your Own:  Do you like scarves but don’t want the same as every other Dick, Jane and Harry? If this is the case for you, you might consider designing your own colour combination for a custom-made flower scarf!
  3. Custom Soiled Flower Brooch:  These brooches or pins are made from reclaimed yarn from my stash. Most are made from ends and bits that I’ve saved from ending up in the trash (people just don’t appreciate the last bit of yarn!) thus I am unable to identify what type of yarn, although most are acrylic.

annymay

You will find so many fabulous things over at the AnnyMay etsy shop that it was really hard to pick just three, but I think I managed to narrow down my choices!  I have to admit though, I had to use a great deal of dicipline not to just take a screen shot of the whole store and go from there!

Friday Tidbit: Fabulous Stacking Inukshuk from Painted Turtle!

inukshuk

Aren’t these the coolest?  This is a stacking inukshuk from Painted Turtle Wooden Toys, located in beautiful Muskoka.  I am so impressed with all the nifty toys over at their website, but this one really caught my eye.  These toys are created with locally sourced white ash, hand sanded to remove any pokeys, and then finished with food grade hempseed oil from Manitoba!

Says Veronica of Painted Turtle Wooden Toys:

“Our toys are made with the concerned parent in mind.  We take great pride in providing an heirloom quality wooden toy made with locally sourced hardwoods and completely non toxic finishes.  Furthermore, we use Canadian finishes as much as possible–our main finish is certified organic, food-grade hempseed oil from a farm in Manitoba!  We strive for complete disclosure of the materials we use and gladly welcome questions about our products.”
