Earth Friendly Goodies from She Sews Lovely!

shesewslovely

If you’re looking for something nifty to stick into the stocking of your favourite coffee lover, drop on by She Sews Lovely, by Karley…the home of the Eco Coffee Sleeve!!!

Says Karley:

“Everyone thinks I’m crazy, but winter is my favourite season. I love watching the snow fall on a quiet street, cuddling up with my puppy and a hot chocolate on a cold night, and of course – gingerbread lattes!! It’s such a magical time….

Fits all disposable cups – 12oz, 16oz and 20oz. Approximate height of each sleeve is 2.5 inches (7cm). Of course, yours may be a bit smaller or larger, as all coffee sleeves are handmade by me and completely unique!

These make great holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. Pair an eco coffee sleeve with a gift card at your local coffee shop, a set of your favourite tea bags, or your favourite coffee beans.

Eco coffee sleeves are packaged in biodegradable & compostable clear sleeves. These bags are PLA products which mean they are made from plants!”

  1. Handcrafted with a bright & colourful cotton fabric from Michael Miller’s Funky Christmas collection. It is festive enough for the holidays but can also be used year-round. The sleeve is lined with flannel in a coordinating colour.

Okay before we start, I should say that Ashley from Off The Hooks has just the most gorgeous selection of handspun, hand painted yarns in her shop, so if you’re hankering for a bit of colour, you need to check out all the beautiful yarns available in her shop.

This stunning and deceptively simple  yarn caught my attention immediately while poking around at Off The Hooks.  It is just so rich and creamy looking I couldn’t resist featuring it as the week’s Tidbit.

Go Green with Eco-TAV!

eco-TAV

If you’re looking for some awesome handmade, earth-friend accessories this holiday season, Eco-TAV has everything you need.  From day-to-day snack bags and cloth napkins, to  elegant evening bags, Eco-TAV is the place to go to find something special for the eco-conscious people on your list.

  1. Recycled Fabric Silk Cell Phone/MP3 Case:  Apple green silk pouchlet with rounded bottom fits a very niche market of cell phones, or MP3 players – but it is so adorable!  Lined with french floral printed cotton – sweet blue and green flower pattern on white.  Dimensions – approximately:  3 inches by 3.25 inches – with some loss due to rounding of bottom.
  2. Eco-TAV Hemp Napkin:  The Eco-TAV Napkin is a large sized napkin with the Eco-TAV snapping system. It folds up into a pouch large enough to hold a regular sandwich, muffin, cookie, fruit etc. Then it opens out to serve as a placemat, or napkin.  Compact and easy to remember, they are completely washable and if you simply wash it as you are washing dishes, you can let it hang to dry and it is ready to go again within 2-3 hours!  Size: approximately 16″x18″ open; 6″x8″ folded. It rolls up to about 6 inches by 3 for storage – maximum!
  3. Blossom Bag:  The concept is simple, but effective. With the circular shape presenting a lovely placemat for wherever you may settle in for lunch, crafting, or just general purse use, the draw strings pull it all together to create a relaxed bag.  It can be worn on the shoulder, but works equally well in “backpack” duty.

Fabulous Earth Friendly Journals from PrairiePeasant

prairiepeasant

Here I am again, feeding my obsession with awesome notebooks.  These ones are from PrairiePeasant; a great etsy shop featuring lots and lots of journals created from old book rescued and given new life!

  1. Oh Canada Travel Journal:  This journal is perfect for the traveller in both its size and style, easy to slip into a backpack or bag. And if you’re not travelling, why not have a place to keep your dreams?
  2. Citrus Pocket Notebooks, Set of Three:  These personal envelope style notebooks are just the right size to fit into a pocket or bag to always have at your fingertips. The covers are made from sturdy cardstock with a flap closure to keep the notebook secure. The last photo shows an image of how best to open the notebooks: flexing the sides towards the back helps the tab pop out of the slit.
  3. My Bones are Yellow, What Colour are Yours, Anatomy Journal:  This journal is part of my Anatomy Series. Covers are reclaimed bookboard covered with colour plate pages from the beginning of a vintage anatomy textbook, and lined with a matching yellow and green striped decorative paper. This journal is Coptic bound with green waxed linen thread allowing it to lie perfectly flat when open.
